Our trip to Dublin, Ireland

Dublin - the capital and largest city of Ireland, located on the east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Wonderful city, from which you absolutely need to begin your journey through the green island. Surely delight you with a place that is the most beautiful symbol of Irish culture and traditions.
Dublin each year attracts hundreds of tourists who want to experience the incredible atmosphere of this place. It is characterized by its seaside location, the vast number of interesting sights, great tourist attractions and friendly locals. The capital is also famous for its pubs and brilliant events. One thing is certain - in Dublin you will not gonna be bored!

Dublin - stolica i największe miasto Irlandii, położone na wschodnim wybrzeżu u ujścia rzeki Liffey. Wspaniałe miasto, od którego koniecznie musisz rozpocząć swoją podróż po zielonej wyspie. Na pewno zachwyci Cię to miejsce, które jest najpiękniejszym symbolem irlandzkiej kultury i tradycji. Dublin każdego roku przyciąga setki turystów, którzy pragną poczuć niesamowitą atmosferę tego miejsca. Dublin Castle (Zamek Dubliński)

 

Zamek Dubliński to najważnieszy zabytek miasta. Wybudowany w XIII w. na rozkaz króla Jana. Przez 700 lat wpisał się do historii Irlandii jako symbol brytyjskiego panowania. W 1922r brytyjczycy przekazali w nim władzę irlandczykom. Obecnie w zamku znajdują się 2 muzea - The Garda Museum (Muzeum Policji) i The Revenue Museum (przedstawiające historię poboru podatków i ceł w Irlandii), 2 kawiarnie, ogrody, międzynarodowe centrum konferencyjne i  budynki rządowe.

Dublin Castle is the most important monument of the city. Built in the thirteenth century. On the orders of King John. For 700 years inscribed into the history of Ireland as a symbol of British rule. In 1922 british handed him the authority Irish. Today the castle there are 2 museums - The Garda (Police) Museum and The Revenue Museum (depicting the history of the collection of taxes and customs duties in Ireland), 2 cafes, gardens, international conference center and government buildings.

Christ Church Cathedral (Katedra Kościoła Chrystusowego w Dublinie) 

Katedra jest duchowym sercem miasta. Powstała ok. XI w. Można w niej zobaczyć piękne wnętrze i ciekawe średniowieczne krypty.

The cathedral is the spiritual heart of the city. Established approx. at 11 century. Inside you can see a beautiful interior and interesting medieval crypt.

St. Patrick's Cathedral (Katedra Świętego Patryka)

Największa budowla sakralna w Irlandii, ma status katedry narodowej. Została zbudowana ku czci patrona Irlandii św. Patryka.

Guinness Storehouse (Muzeum Guinnessa) 

Będąc w Dublinie nie można ominąć tego miejsca. Guinness jest najbardziej znanym irlandzkim piwem i wielką światową marką. W muzeum poznacie historię Guinnessa i tajniki jego produkcji. Tutaj możecie spróbować Guinnessa, a na ostatnim piętrze podziwiać panoramę Dublina.

During your stay in Dublin you cannot miss a Guinness Storehouse. Guinness is the most famous Irish beer and a great global brand. In the museum you will get to know about the history of Guinness and the secrets of its production. Here you can taste the beer and admire a panoramic view of Dublin on the last floor.

Browar Guinnessa - St. James's Gate Brewery został założony w 1759 r. przez Arthura Guinnessa. Symbolem browaru jest złota harfa, która jest herbem Irlandii.

St. James's Gate Brewery was founded in 1759 by Arthur Guinness. The symbol of the brewery is a gold harp - the emblem of Ireland.

Temple Bar 

Jeśli chcesz zasmakować irlandzkiego nocnego życia, koniecznie wpadnij na Temple Bar. Jest to najpopularniejsza dzielnica Dublina. Słynie z ogromnej ilości pubów, kawiarni i restauracji. Możesz spróbować tu Guinnessa (który naszym zdaniem smakuje zupełnie inaczej tutaj w pubach w Dublinie w porównaniu do tego, który miałysmy okazję skosztować w innych irish pubach rozsianych po Europie - tu smakuje znacznie lepiej!) i posłuchać muzyki na żywo. 

Temple Bar is the most popular district of Dublin. Famous for its large number of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Here you can drink a Guinness (which in our opinion has much better taste than in the other isirh pubs around the Europe. Here it tastes much better!) and listen to live music. It's a must, when you want to taste an irish nightlife.

If you are going to Dublin we can recommend a stay at the Oliver St. John Gogarty's Hostel at Temple Bar. Prices start from 14 euros. It's so called 'bed and breakfast' - hostel has a bar and restaurant and a good location, close to the main attractions.

Lá 'le Pádraig! Saint Patrick’s Day is coming!

Dzień Świętego Patryka to święto narodowe w Irlandii, obchodzone 17 marca. Jest to dzień wolny od pracy, w wielu miastach Irlandczycy organizują festyny i uliczne pochody. Najważniejszą tradycją obchodów dnia św. Patryka jest noszenie ubrań w kolorze zielonym. Zieleń to narodowy kolor Irlandii, nawiązujący do trawiastego krajobrazu wyspy i symbolizujący koniczynę (tzw. seamróg), przypisywaną tradycyjnie świętemu Patrykowi, patronowi Irlandii, który rzekomo wykorzystywał tę trzylistą koniczynę jako symbol Trójcy Świętej. Podczas święta pije się także irlandzie piwo lub irlandzkie whiskey.

Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17th March. Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in Ireland. Celebrations generally involve public parades, festivals, drinking irish beer and whiskey and wearing of green clothes or shamrocks - a three-leaved plant, which St. Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland, is said to have used.
