Sintra

Sintra to urokliwe górskie miasteczko położone w pobliżu Lizbony. Jedno z piękniejszych miejsc w Portugalii wpisane na listę UNESCO. Znane z unikalnych pałaców, zamków i rezydencji, a także pięknych ogrodów.

Sintra is a charming mountain town near Lisbon. One of the most beautiful places in Portugal, inscribed on the UNESCO list. Known for their unique palaces, castles, residences, and beautiful gardens.

Jeśli ktoś z was będzie kiedyś w Lizbonie polecam odwiedzić to malownicze miasto, które jest oddalone zaledwie 25 km od stolicy. Sintra to miejsce gdzie warto wybrać się na jednodniową wycieczkę, jednak atrakcji jest tu tak dużo, że aby wszystkie na spokojnie zobaczyć potrzeba minimum 2-3 dni. W tym poście pokażę wam jak wyglądał mój dzień w Sintrze i co udało mi się zobaczyć.

If any of you will ever in Lisbon I recommend you visit this  picturesque town, which is only 25 km from the capital. Sintra is a place where is worth to go on one-day trip, but there are so many attractions here, so you could stay here minimum 2 or 3 days. In this post I will show you how I spent my day in Sintra.

Z Lizbony do Sintry można dojechać pociągiem ze stacji kolejowej Rossio. Pociągi odjeżdżają co 10-20 min. Czas przejazd to 40 min. Koszt biletu to 2,15 euro. Rozkład znaleźć możecie tutaj na stronie portugalskich kolei. Jeżeli decydujecie się na 1 dzień w Sintrze i chcecie sporo zobaczyć polecam wam autobusy Scotturb i linię 434 Circuito da Pena. Autobusem tym możecie dojechać do 3 najważniejszych i najczęściej odwiedzanych atrakcji miasta. Trasa prowadzi przez centrum historyczno-turystyczne, Zamek Maurów i Pałac Pena, następnie, wraca na stację kolejową w Sintrze. Cena biletu to 5 euro. Na jednym bilecie możecie wysiąść na każdym z tych przystanków, a po zwiedzeniu danego obiektu dalej kontynuować podróż w kierunku stacji kolejowej. 

 

From Lisbon to Sintra you can travel by train (railway station Rossio). Trains depart every 10-20 minutes. The journey duration is 40 minutes. The cost of a single ticket is 2.15 euros. Distribution can be found here at the Portuguese railways. If you decide on one day in Sintra and you want to see much I recommend Scotturb buses and line 434 Circuito da Pena. With this bus you can get to 3 the most important and most visited attractions. The route runs through the center of historical and tourism, the Castle of the Moors and Pena Palace, then back to the train station in Sintra. Ticket price is 5 euro. With one ticket you can get off at any of the stops, and after visiting the facility further continue their journey towards the railway station. 

Miasto może nie jest duże, ale piesza wędrówka jest dość uciążliwa i czasochłonna, gdyż większość atrakcji jest położona na sporych wysokościach i leży daleko od siebie. Sintra jest położona na wzgórzach Serra de Sintra. Dawniej była kurortem portugalskiej arystokracji. Władcy pobudowali tu wspaniałe pałace i rezydencje. 

Pierwszy przystanek to Centro Historico - Turismo, czyli stare miasto, gdzie znajduje się Pałac Narodowy Sintra, niegdyś letnia rezydencja portugalskich królów. Budowlę tę wyróżniają 2 duże białe kominy. Znajduje się tu muzeum. 
 

The city is not large, but walking is quite tiring and time-consuming, since most attractions are located at considerable heights and they are located far from each other. Sintra is located in the hills of the Serra de Sintra. Formerly the Portuguese resort of the aristocracy, so you can find here magnificent mansions and palaces. 

The first stop is the Centro Historico - Tourismo, or old city where the National Palace of Sintra, the former summer residence of the Portuguese kings.  This building stand out 2 large white chimneys. There is also a museum here.

Pałac Pena to niesamowite, zachwycające miejsce. Dzięki jego lokalizacji na wzgórzu możemy podziwiać z wewnątrz piękną panoramę Sintry. Jest najpiękniejszym pałacem w Sintrze i w całej Portugalii. Pałac powstał na miejscu XVI-wiecznego klasztoru za czasów panowania Ferdynanda II, który chciał dzięki tej budowli pokazać to wszystko co jest najpiękniejsze w architekturze Portugalii. Wyróżnia się on mieszanką elementów gotyku, renesansu i stylu manuelińskiego. Jaskrawe kolory sprawiają, że wygląda jak z bajki. Magia! Oprócz pałacu można tu zwiedzić przepiękny park. W 2015 r Pałac Pena został uznany przez jury European Best Destination za najpiękniejszy zamek Europy. 

Pena Palace is amazing. Thanks to its location on a hill you can admire beautiful panorama of Sintra It's the most beautiful palace in Sintra and in Portugal. The palace was built on the place where before was XVI-century monastery during the reign of Ferdinand II, who wanted to show through this building all the beauty of Portugal's architecture. It is distinguished by a mixture of elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Manueline style. The bright colors make it looks like a fairy tale. Magic! You can visit the also a beautiful park. In 2015 Pena Palace was recognized by the jury of the European Best Destination as the most beautiful castle in Europe.

Another architectural masterpiece of Sintra Quinta da Regaleira is the residence built by the millionaire Antonio Augusto Carvalho Monteiro.

Pałac Monserrate to niezwykła pałacowa willa i romantyczny ogród. Posiadłość ta należała do angielskiego milionera Francisa Cooka.

Monserrate Palace is a unique palatial villa and the romantic garden. This property belonged to the English millionaire Francis Cook.

Zaskoczyło mnie w Sintrze to, że tak niewielkie miasteczko jest tak bogate w atrakcje. Bajkowe pałace i zamki, a to wszystko między lasami i wzgórzami z których panorama potrafi zadziwić. Ze wzgórz Serra de Sintra można też dostrzec w oddali ocean. Stare portugalskie powiedzenie "Zobaczyć cały świat, a nie widzieć Sintry, to nic nie zobaczyć" doskonale oddaje urok tego miejsca. 

I was surprised, that such a small town is so rich in attractions. Fairy-tale palaces, castles and everything between forests and hills from which the panorama can astound. From the hills of the Serra de Sintra, you can also see in the ocean. Old Portugish saying "To see the whole world and not see Sintra, it's nothing to see", perfectly sums up the charm of the place.
